About Me

Bye Mice. Bye Ants. Bye Cockroaches.

Your home is your safe space. You might share it with a cat or dog by choice, but you certainly don't want to share it with other critters, like ants and cockroaches. You can take steps to keep these critters at bay, of course. Take out the trash more often, and vacuum on a regular basis. Still, pests can be sneaky, and they sometimes appear in spite of your efforts. A pest control company can get rid of them. Trust the professionals to say "goodbye" to everything from mice, to ants, to roaches. We'll share more on this blog, so read on.

Got a Lot of Wasps in Your Yard? How to Get Them Out Before You Get Stung

Wasps can be scary for many people especially for those who have never been stung before. If you see a lot of wasps when you go outside one or two may even get inside your home, which can be even scarier. Fortunately, there are things you can do to make the wasps leave your home.

Things to Try on Your Own

A pest control company is your best bet but there are some things you can try on your own. First, there are wasp traps that you can hang, and they are very effective. These traps have a liquid that wasps are attracted to. Once the wasp smells the liquid it will crawl into the trap and then get stuck. Once this happens the wasp will soon drown in the liquid.

You can also purchase a spray that kills wasps and spray their nest. This can be a little dangerous so wear protective clothing so you don't get stung. Choose the late evening to spray the nest as wasps are most inactive at this time. The spray should have a long nozzle so you do not have to get close to the nest. Spray the nest liberally so it is completely covered. You may have to spray it a few times over the next two or three days to kill all the wasps.

Contact a Pest Control Company

If you are scared of wasps, you should contact a pest control company to do this job for you. They will first find the wasp nests and take care of them first by spraying or removing them completely.

The pest control company will also provide pest control traps that often work better than what you can purchase on your own. The contractor will spray around your yard to help prevent wasps from coming in and killing the ones that are there. If there are a lot of wasps the pest control company may have to come to your home a few times.

Once all the wasps are gone the pest control company can give you tips on keeping them away. This is keeping food sealed that you have outside, especially soda cans. If you have other pests in your yard, such as spiders and grubs, wasps like to eat these. Because of this the pest control company will take steps to remove these pests.

Local pest control companies can give you more information on removing wasps from your yard.
