Bye Mice. Bye Ants. Bye Cockroaches.

About Me

Bye Mice. Bye Ants. Bye Cockroaches.

Your home is your safe space. You might share it with a cat or dog by choice, but you certainly don't want to share it with other critters, like ants and cockroaches. You can take steps to keep these critters at bay, of course. Take out the trash more often, and vacuum on a regular basis. Still, pests can be sneaky, and they sometimes appear in spite of your efforts. A pest control company can get rid of them. Trust the professionals to say "goodbye" to everything from mice, to ants, to roaches. We'll share more on this blog, so read on.

Watch Out For These 2 Creepy Crawly Insects In Your Home

The last thing you want to see is creepy crawly insects in your home, but they can get in there. Knowing what to watch out for can help you get rid of them in the beginning before they infest your home. Below are two insects you should be aware of. An ant control service can also help control them.

Ants

It is common to see ants outside of a home, making anthills and bring food back and forth. It is also common to find ants inside your home. Outside they are not a problem at all but inside they can cause significant issues. If you see even one or two ants inside your home, then you likely have many more than you think you do. Ants are so tiny they can get through very small cracks and it can be very hard to get them out of your home.

Ants are attracted to food like all insects. Even leaving small crumbs on your counter can look like a feast to these insects. Once they find food, they will get it and head back to their colony to feed other ants.

To get rid of ants, first, get rid of all food sources. Once you do this, purchase ant killer at a store. One of the best types of killers is gel liquid. This product comes with a cardboard card and you squeeze the gel on the card. Ants love the taste of this even though it is poisonous. The ants will eat some and carry it back to their colony and kill ants that are there.

Cockroaches

Cockroaches can be brought into a home easily. For example, if you purchase a bag of potatoes at a grocery store, there may be a cockroach inside of it. If that cockroach is pregnant, it may reproduce in your home. Before you know it, your home will become infested with these pesky insects.

You may see cockroaches roaming around your home at night. If you get up in the middle of the night and turn on your kitchen light, you might see several cockroaches on your countertop. Before you start getting rid of them, clean your home thoroughly, making sure there are no food crumbs in your kitchen, such as on your countertops or floors.

There are traps that you can purchase at a store. These traps have a scent that attracts cockroaches. There is a sticky type of substance in the trap that the cockroaches will get stuck to. Using this kind of trap may mean that it will take a couple of weeks to kill all cockroaches in your home.
